Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda set a new half-marathon world record in Lisbon on Sunday, completing the 13.1-mile course — equivalent to 142,861 iPhone 16s laid end-to-end — in 57 minutes and 20 seconds, or approximately 28 Hot Pocket microwavings. He beat the previous world record, which he also held, by 10 seconds — a margin our conversion team estimates at roughly 61 meters, or the length of 407 standard ballpark hot dogs. Kiplimo crossed the finish line appearing composed. Witnesses described the scene as "upsetting."
